You’ve reached the end of the first week – congratulations! Today, we’re exploring something everyone experiences: Emotions (情感 – qínggǎn)! Being able to talk about feelings is important for communication and understanding others.

Let’s learn the most common personal pronouns in Mandarin Chinese!

Today’s 10 Thematic Words: Personal Pronouns

These words help us talk about ourselves and others. Notice how the plural forms often add 们 (men). Listen carefully to the pronunciation!

开心 (kāixīn) – Happy, Joyful
兴奋 (xīngfèn) – Excited
紧张 (jǐnzhāng) – Nervous, Tense
害怕 (hàipà) – Scared, Afraid
伤心 (shāngxīn) – Sad, Heartbroken
失望 (shīwàng) – Disappointed
惊喜 (jīngxǐ) – Pleasantly Surprised
害羞 (hàixiū) – Shy
生气 (shēngqì) – Angry, Mad
无聊 (wúliáo) – Bored
