Positive Things to Say to Kids in Chinese

It’s much easier for us to focus on what we believe right for our kids rather than what they are interested in at the moment. This often leads to “no” when we communicate with our kids. As we know, negativity does not help shape our kids in the way we want them to become, so instead, we should pay more attention to the positive things our kids do and give them encouraging words.

Why Positive Things?

Encouraging words can have a positive impact on our children as they make the kiddos feel good about themselves, be more confident, and know that they are valued and loved. This would give our kids strength when they encounter difficulties in life even years later.

Here are some positive things to say to your child in Chinese and English.  Use them daily.

我相信你。
wǒ xiāng xìn nǐ.
I believe you.

你帮了我。
nǐ bāng le wǒ.
You helped me.

我原谅你。
wǒ yuánliàng nǐ
I forgive you.

别放弃。
bié fàng qì.
Don’t give up.

你很勇敢。
nǐ hěn yǒng gǎn.
You are brave.

你的主意很棒。
nǐ de zhǔ yì hěn bàng.
Your idea is great.

你是我的宝贝。
nǐ shì wǒ de bǎo bèi.
You are my bay.

明天再试试。
míng tiān zài shì shì.
Try it again tomorrow.

我在听。
wǒ zài tīng.
I’m listening.

很高兴你在这里。
hěn gāo xìng nǐ zài zhè lǐ.
I’m glad you are here.

我欣赏你。
wǒ xīn shǎng nǐ.
I appreciate you.

我为你骄傲。
wǒ wèi nǐ jiāo ào.
I am proud of you.

你很重要。
nǐ hěn zhòng yào.

You can say no.

nǐ hěn shàn cháng zhè ge!
You are good at this.

我们都会犯错。
wǒ men dū huì fàn cuò.
We all make mistakes.

不是每个人都会喜欢你的，但是没有关系。
bú shì měi gè rén dū huì xǐ huān nǐ de, dàn shì méi yǒu guān xì.
Not everyone will like you, but it doesn’t matter。

你做得很好。
nǐ zuò dé hěn hǎo.
You did that so well.

是的，我也一样。
shì de, wǒ yě yī yàng
Yes, me too.

你是一个好孩子。
nǐ shì yī gè hǎo hái zi
You are a good child.

很高兴和你在一起。
hěn gāo xìng yǔ ní zài yī qǐ.
I am very happy to spend time with you.

我等不及要听你说了。
wǒ děng bù jí yào tīng nǐ shuō le
I can’t wait to hear about it.

不要害怕做你自己。
bú yào hài pà zuò nǐ zì jǐ.
Don’t be afraid to be yourself.

我知道你尽力了。
wǒ zhī dào nǐ jìn lì le.
I know you tried your best.

我喜欢当你的爸爸（妈妈）。
wǒ xǐ huān dāng nǐ de bà ba （mā mā）
I love being your Dad (Mom).
