If we haven't met before, I am Sophia Xiong - a ˜ 20-year teaching veteran and the owner of Chinese4kids.net. As a teacher, I've taught students ranging from early years to university on different subjects: EAL, ICT, and Mandarin. My experiences have given me deep understanding and valuable knowledge regarding what a student needs to learn an additional language and what a teacher wants. My IT and Design background further equips me with the skills to create teaching and learning materials.
I did not start creating Chinese teaching and learning materials right from the beginning. Actually when I started teaching Chinese, I spent countless time searching for the right learning materials, but could not find the right ones for my own children and my students.
The truth is: There are a lot of materials in the market, actually maybe way too much, but few of them are made for children learning Chinese as an additional language. That's why I started to create my own materials to cater to my kids' needs. Slowly other teachers and parents have seen the value and used them in their own teaching.
Being a teacher, I know exactly what a teacher wants and I would like to create a one-stop place that teachers / parents can access, search, plug and play in their own Chinese teaching... .
..One that would allow them to focus on the essentials, eliminate the fluff, and target the knowledge and skills our kiddos need to become confident and thriving young Chinese students.

- The lesson plans go in order. Each lesson plan can be used for 1-4 lessons depending on how the class is structured.
- All lesson plans include Details (Time/Objectives/structure/target vocabulary), Lesson Materials (Flashcards, Printable, etc), Supplies, Notes, Lesson Structures including class activities, classwork and homework.
- For each lesson plan, all the supplementary teaching materials mentioned in the plan are also listed together with the lesson plan itself, examples include
